I have been wrestling with what it means to love your neighbor. As a Christian, I believe, I get the privilege and responsibility of showing my neighbor God’s love…to feed and to clothe them…to leverage the gifts God has given me for the sake, and hope, of them walking into the Kingdom God has called them to.
But who is my neighbor? Is it the people that I come in contact with everyday or is it the people in my actual physical neighborhood where I live? Is it the people in a remote village in Africa or my family in a town two hours away?
I am pretty sure the answer is: YES.
I think God provides us opportunity to show Christ’s love to each of these groups of people. Is it enough to say I help one of those groups? Is it enough that I give of myself at a church? Do I need to be doing more?
I don’t know? But I think that each day God places people in our paths that need the love of God…and the question is…are you going to help…or just go about your everyday life?
